In 1977, Lloyd DeLeon discovered his passion for the construction industry. Over the next 45 years, he worked with companies as an employee, subcontractor, and eventually became the owner-operator of DeLeon Affordable Roofing in 2015. By 2020, his reputation for delivering quality craftsmanship grew throughout the greater HRM. Builders, property managers, developers, restoration companies, and renovation companies started to rely on Deleon Roofing for their residential and small commercial roofing projects in neighborhoods such as the South End of Halifax, Hydrostone, Moir Mills, Portland Hills, Kingswood, White Hills, and Armdale, to name a few.

During this time, he also won the Community Leader Award from BBB Atlantic in 2017, and the Canadian Choice Award for Dartmouth Roofer in 2023. His commitment to the safety of the installers, homeowners, and the community is unwavering. To demonstrate this, he has Kimber and Tucker Quality Surveyors conduct routine safety inspections on all of these projects. As Lloyd winds down from the day-to-day operations of the company, he has passed the torch to Lisa Coates, who also shares his passion for delivering elite quality roofing solutions and brings her business savvy to the company. As one of the few black-owned and -operated Nova Scotia roofing companies, we are proud to announce the newest member of the team, Gift Dopamu, a 2024 graduate of NSCC's Business Administration class. Together, we now have three generations and a combined 50-plus years of providing quality roofing solutions.
